Hi everyone. I have a ht1000, non-dtmf with an 'A' codeplug. I have tried the hex hack to enable it, and no joy. The pad lights all the time, and does
not seem to function. The original codeplug had 58 in B2. Do I have to have a 'B' codeplug?
Any help will be MUCH appreciated.
By the way, it is UHF 403-470 16 channel

HT1000 'A' version
Hello:
I think your 'A' version radio supports DTMF through the controller, which is RSS enabled only, there is no 'auto-sensing' of the controller, this is an RSS enabled option only, so you will need it to go into the DTMF options so it can be activated.
I believe the default setting for DTMF is 'DISABLED'.

Check the Batlabs site under Model Specific Info. then go to the HT1000 pages. A procedure is in there for using the special programming mode
to enable DTMF. There is a caveat that states the radio had to be a DTMF radio originally for this to work but I can tell you I've done this at least 10X on radios that didn't start with a DTMF pad and it worked like a charm without doing any bit banging. I'd bit bang the radio back to original configuration and then try this method. I've never put a pad on an 'A' model so can't comment on compability. If this doesn't work there's also
a procedure to bang an A radio to a B.

You got my curiosity going. I took a look in the HT1000 programming book and it did say that you can only change DTMF configurations on 'B'
and later revisions so your original suspicion might be correct. If the special programming mode doesn't provide a workaround banging it to a 'B' and trying spm again might work. Let us know if it works for your 'A'
radio.
