A newbie question: GP328 CPS config

Hi all
I am very much anewbie to portable radios and need some help. I have 6 GP328 radios in a net that I 'inherited' from a predecessor. I need some more radios as we are expanding and want the new and old to communicate with each other. I have the CPS software and cable bits but am unsure exactly how to use them. So far have DL'ed a radios profile and made a slight change to one of the conv pers. BUT, and this is where I need help, but for the one chanel all the others are not active and give tone when selected. I ahve checked the settings and all appear correct udner the CPS. Do I need a MDC and DTMF entry for each conv personality to make them work?
