crimper/stripper?
Can anyone recommend a good coax crimper? (below $50) I woud like to be able to crimp regular cable tv connectors as well as pl259, mini uhf, bnc, etc. Also a good coax stripper. Thanks
There are plenty of them on ebay. Before I new about ebay quite some time ago I purchased the RF Industries Model RFA 4005-020 and the associated dies for most crimp sizes needed. I paid more than $50 back then for the tool and the several dies I purchased but now on ebay you could probably get the whole set for much less......fineshot1

I've got the same crimpers as Fineshot... I got mine in a kit, which includes a decent carry case and dies for everything from LMR-400 to tiny stuff (RG-174).
For coax strippers, it DOES NOT PAY to buy the cheap stuff. You'll just end up doing it by hand. Xcelite is what you want, but it's expensive.
On another note, the Xcelite strippers are pricey and you'll want to keep them in good shape. When you put the strippers on the cable and spin it to cut the coax, DO NOT pull the stripper slideways to pull the cut pieces off. Remove the stripper and remove the pieces yourself. Trust me on this.

Sorry - forgot to mention stripper. I never use one. Just use a sharp knife and cut the outer jacket about an inch from the end of the cable. Then cut a line from the first cut to the end of the cable and split the jacket and pull it off. This method works for just about any type of cable except hardline. If you use a special tool for stripping jackets you may wind up spending way more due to needing several different tools for various different diameter cables......fineshot1
