Maxtrac/CDM horn-Lights Output or other switching ouputs?

Post by FMROB »

I don't have a service manual for a CDM or maxtrac.

Is there such and ouput that will provide a latching on/off upon rx'ing and DTMF call or MDC call.

I am looking to use a mobile radio via DTMF or MDC command to operate a 12 coil/110 volt relay for a 100 volt on/off application.

Thanks, Rob

Yes. In the software there is a setting for external alarm. It can be latching or it can be timed momentary. It can be triggered by MDC call-alert, QC-II call-alert, or DTMF call-alert if you have the DTMF option board.

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"

The standard alarm output (typically pin 4) does not provide latching. It only provides a timed output. The alarm can be programmed in some models to be automatically (permanent) or manual rearmed. This feature will work with QCII, MDC1200 and DTMF as posted by nmfire10 in CDM and some Maxtrac like radios.

But there also is a feature for CDM models that allows an accessory pin to be either timed or latched when in incoming MDC1200 ID is received. One ID can enable the pin and another disables this pin. This same pin can also be toggled with front buttons if programmed to do so. Pin 4 would be the choice since it can drive a small relay.
For info, look under Radio Configuration > Auxiliary Control in the CPS. Use Help or right click “What’s this?”
