EX600 Belt Clip

Post by hooknladder »

Does /\/\ or anybody else make a battery with a belt clip for the EX600? Looking for an alternative to the holster that /\/\ provides. Any info or links would be appreciated.

EX600

What I've done is taken the standard jedi belt clip and replaced the pager/speaker mic hodgepodge clip that was fashoned for the EX500/600 carrer. The radio wont stand upright on a desk in the holster, but the clip is WAY more secure and carries better.

The radio wont rotate forward/backward, but ive found they fall out more often that way.

That is about the best way so far I have found to address that with our fleet.

Any other thoughts on this?

The rotating belt clip doesn't seem to be a problem for me - in fact, it lets me get the radio into a position that doesn't bump into something more often than not. My problem is that the full-size VHF antenna on my EX600 constantly bumps against something and often its enough force to pop the radio out of the cradle.

Maybe look into getting one of the leather swivel cases?

I have one and it seems pretty decent, and it's a lot more secure than just the plastic cradle holster.

Thanks, Pat. Do you have the soft leather or hard leather case? Feedback on either, pro or con? Thanks.

I have the soft leather case. Like I said, it's quite a bit more secure than just the plastic clip. There's a elastic strap that goes over the top of the radio and the case has a zipper on the side that closes the case up. Once the radio's in there it won't fall out. The downside to that is taking the radio out to talk on it, etc., is kind of a pain. You can talk on the radio when it's still inside the case though.

I've noticed that the swivel on the case is not as tight as the one on the plastic case; it tends to swivel a lot more freely.

Thanks, Pat. I was going to be buying a new battery soon so I'll try the soft leather case as well.
