FCC licensing question?

If one were to start the process to obtain a UHF business license for a UHF business channel but wanted to run P25 traffic on it what would you have to specifically request on the application? Any other considerations? Thanks, Rob

I do not think that their is any license restriction(s) for the type of mode (digi/analog) that you use. I only think that amatuer licenses have restrictions since the spectrum is not privately owned. I could be wrong and usually I am so you might want to check w/ the FCC to be sure. http://www.FCC.gov

Yes, you have to specify the emission type(s) you will be using when you apply. If already licensed for analog (F3E), you would need to modify the license to specify the type of digital emission you want to use.

Ok, Sound without sounding stupid, what emission type would be

analog voice, and/or p25 (astro) type emissions on the same channel.

See I knew somebody would know better...those emissions designators are a :o to memorize

Yes, and they are for 'narrowband' emissions.

But, even with the correct emission designators, you HAVE to ID in the clear. Every transmission or group of transmissions not to exceed 15 min.
