XTS LITHIUM-ION battery question

Post by Mfire39 »

Hello all, hope everyone had a good Christmas. Anyway, I'm looking into getting a couple of the NTN8610 "thin" LITHIUM-ION batteries for my 2 XTS3000's. Just looking for some feedback from others before I pop for that not so cheap price. Just looking for likes and dislikes on the size and weight difference, capacity, stuff like that. Any input would be great before I buy a couple.

Thanks,

-Marc

I use my LiIons for "hamfest" batteries... times when I want the small size and don't care about runtime. In heavy transmit usage, they're an 8-hour battery.

If I'm doing FF/EMS work, the 3.5Ah NiMH packs are the order of the day... one on the radio, one spare in a lower pocket.

Don't forget that you must have a LiIon compatible charger or you'll toast your nice, new batteries.

I think the IMPRES charger that I picked up last month should work ok with them.

Thanks,

8610's

Post by Jason »

Yes, the newer impress chargers will accept the 8610 LION packs.

As others have mentioned, there's a fellow on ebay has been selling NOS 8610's for several years now. Ive also had very good luck with them, you may want to go that route and get a few of them.

Not going to post the link, pm me if youd like the info.
