Astro Spectra Question

Post by BPD109 »

What all is involved in converting a W9 Astro Spectra to a W3?

Is it possible to access and use a siren/VRS with a W3 control head?

Thanks!

new interconnect board, new remote cable, w3 mic, appropriate s-record to convert it....and a dash mount accessory plug to pull audio from and apply ignition sense (plugs into the new remote cable via a pigtail)

w3 and siren... man what a saga.

unless you are willing to buy a NEW siren... i think HLN1439, you can forget it. the standard HLN1185 boxes will *NOT* work on W3.

there are a few threads you can search here that have discussed this.... try W3 siren as a search

here's one

Even deeper in

Ok, I am resolved that I will _NOT_ be going to the W3 control head...

Now, to go a leetle deeper into the VRS/Siren project..

Will the T03KEA3006AWSP02 VRS/Siren combo function properly on a W9 Astro Spectra?

Anyone, Bueller, Bueller?

No it wont. The astro spectra has its own VRS. I think its the VRS 750 or something like that.
