I read on another post that replacing the volume/selector knobs on the minitor III is difficult, Does any one here have any hints for removing them?
Thanks in advance for all the help.

Minitor III knob replacement

To the best of my knowledge the knobs are not replaceable by themselves, you have to get the entire front housing assembly which is part number 1562939B01. I have bought them through AGT Battery Supply who provides great service. They also sell just the rubber knob tips which come of rather easily, but are kind of a pain to get back on.

Replacing A Boot on a Minitor III Pager
If you just need to replace the rubber top portion of the knob, here is how it is done. This is a very good article by Jaden.

Knobs can be replaced without replacing the entire front assembly.
For the Volume Knob you normally need only the rubber portion of the knob, Part #7862939B (a strange looking Motorola part number, but it is correct)
For the Mode Knob, if the knob is twisted & broken so that it does not move the slide switch, then you will need to replace the complete knob...
Part #0162480U01 4-position, Stored Voice
Part #0162480U04 4-position, Non-Stored Voice
Part #0162480U06 2-position

The way I usually fix the knob assy..as there is no replacement for it, is to take a non-stored voice knob and cut off the switch tit and cut/file the rectagular notch in the bottom of the knob assy so it looks like the volume one. Then remove the old knob assy and snap in the replacement. Takes about 10 min to make the notch.
