MTX950 Software

Post by Hightower »

Can someone settle this once and for all for me please....... What version/part number is the programming CPS for the MTX950?

Motorola says Professional CPS R06.01.00 or higher will program this MTX950, but their website says a different version HVN9067E is the CPS for this radio. One dealer told me version R06.04.00 of the professional CPS will program the radio. I'm getting 3 different stories here.

I subscribe to the Pro series CPS for the HT1250, but the current version will not program this MTX950. Anyone got correct CPS information?

Although it 'looks' like a professional series radio, it has it's own CPS, the information for which I copied & pasted from MOL:

HVN9067G....MTX850/ 8250/ MTX950/ 9250....R02.00.00....RLN5596A....8/ 3/ 2004

I can confirm this is the correct CPS as I use it. If you do a search , you'll see several posts detailing how to modify the software to allow out of band programming.

Thanks for the confirmation :D

Looks like a HT750 Professional, but not the most popular radio in the US - I'm guessing because its 902 to 928. Great for ham radio.

Hey all, need to revive this topic, I've got one last question...

If the radio was programmed with a newer version, will the older not work?
thanks!
