MT2000 UNLOCKING

Post by lieut25 »

A local police dept in my area just changed officer numbers. When the radio tech tried reprograming the mt2000 uhf radio to change the ids he said the radio was locked and he cound not change any of the functions. Since the person who org sold the radios went out of business and we cant get a hold of him. Is there any other way to unlock the radio??

i didn't think the mtsx rss offered that option to lock the radio like that. clone another codeplug into it from another radio.

I'm really not sure what he means by "locked", as the MT2000 software doesn't have a provision for password protecting the codeplug. Maybe you could get him to elaborate a bit, as to what messages or error codes he's seeing when he tries to program the radio?

Well, if it's an MT2000, it's conventional only. Unless he meant MTS2000...

He could mean that the radio is locked when you first turn it on. I have my MT2000 set up so it requires me to enter a code from the keypad when I power on the radio before I can use it.
