It is stated in the GP300 "model specific" information that there is a device, or program called "tool kit" used to add channels to the GP300 radio.

batwing says he has no source for the program. Where can I find it? Does anyone have it? Or is it like RSS and cannot be bought or sold unless it is through Motorola?

I don't know if this number is any good, but, there is a reference for this number: (819) 563-4533, it's a few years old and in Ontario Canada. You could try it and see what happens. If you do, let me know what you come up with.

To The best of my knowlage, toolkit was not made by motorola and the company that made it is no longer around. ( Rumur has irt BIG M put em out of bussiness.) Dont think you can leagaly trade it but is out there some waere on the net, Works Well too.

There are other ways to put extra channels in your gp300. you can hack your rss.

note that some GP300 will always be 2 ch or 8 ch and cant be modified.

Actually it is a Quebec area code. The company was sued out of existence by the big M for infringement issues.

Working on GP300 portable radios to add up to 16 channels use the Hex editing notes. This is the safest way to add channels to GP300's, and only your hex edited RSS will read and write the added channels. The stock RSS will not harm the radio but will only allow 2 or 8 channels as originally in the radio. This does not work on the latest firmware version GP300's.
