Hello all,
I have recently purchased a msr-2000 110W repeater with the internal /\/\ duplexer. The machine works great, however it is not on the correct frequency. Having very limited knowledge of "real" repeaters and duplexers..my questions are as follows.
The repeaters TX freq. is exactly 200 khz above my legitimate freq. and the RX freq. is ok.
Can I...
A. Tune the current Xtal exciters down 200khz or will I need to purchase new Xtals? (Yes I do have the manuals and a test set)
B. Will such a small change in freq. require the duplexers to be re-tuned or will they be ok? (as I understand it, these are not narrowband "hammy" type duplexers)
Thanks for the info!!

Re: MSR-2000 VHF
Time to order a new crystal for the channel element. They won't move that far. Typically, they only adjust about 1-2 Khz.KE9GK wrote: Can I...

And you should retune the duplexer. You'll reflect less power back into the final amplifier and lose less power in the cavities.

MSR
looks as though I will then have to employ someone who "knows what they are doing" then, because I have no idea how to even begin to tune a duplexing cavity(s).
Thanks
Thanks

Well, you're hiding behind the Cheese Curtain, or I'd offer to do it for you.KE9GK wrote:looks as though I will then have to employ someone who "knows what they are doing" then, because I have no idea how to even begin to tune a duplexing cavity(s).

A bit of a drive from Los Angeles unfortunately.

ALMOST FORGOT!!
Does anyone know if the Big /\/\ in all their infinite wisdom actually made something useful..such as an MPL encoder for this machine? I have a decoder card that decodes up to 4 different PL tones, but it still only encodes the 1 tone on the "main" PL card. I am looking to have the capability for the machine to encode 2-3 different tones depending on the decoded tone. My intent is such that different users can chat w/o annoying each other. I am just checking because I really don't want to re-tune this thing after having installed a Zetron community tone panel, nor do I really want to screw around with the back plane. Insight would be appreciated.

Multi PL Encoder Module
The Multi PL Encoder Module you're looking for is a TRN5292A and it has Four (4) sockets for the KLN6210A Resonant Vibrasender Reeds.
When used in conjunction with a TRN5329A Multi PL Decoder Module as this module has multiple hardware programming JU Jumpers for selecting Enabling or Disabling on the associated Multi PL Encoder module and reeds.
These two modules are identical to the older Micor modules except these have Black Panels and the White Molex Plastic Edge Connectors used in the MSR2000 station's card cage.

Thanks Dan!! I really appreciate the help. I knew /\/\ wasn't totally dumb (all the time). Now for the hard part.....does anyone have any of these modules for sale??? I'm willing to "buy it now"!
