Problem with SV on Minitor IV

Post by Audubon 1-1 »

My Minitor IV won't store the call, it only stores the tone directly before voice comes on. Is this due to a setting, or is there something wrong with my pager? Also, is there anything I should know about the Minitor IV, as mine is new and I am new to pagers. Thanks.

Sounds like the dispatcher is dropping the transmitter between tone and call, causing the pager to revert.

You want to change the revert setting... you want DELAY N, if memory serves, but you'll need to confirm that.

Yes, Camden County always drops the reciever in between the tones, and the actual voice dispatch. Can I bring it to a motorola shop and have it switched?

have the same problem with our dispatcher.. there are other settings used, whcih allow the pager to wait "N' seconds before sensing a drop in carrier... thats what we use.. and we have it set to 20+ seconds so the dispatcher may drop carrier multiple times before the pagers looks to reset...

That's your problem. Yes, you can get any Motorola shop that has the equipment to do it - should take a few minutes at most (if they know what they're doing).

How big is your department? Now might be a good time to consider purchasing the programming hardware so that you can maintain the units yourself. The interface and Min 4 cradle will likely run you about $150 or so. If you're maintaining several pagers, it would be cheaper in the long run.
