MTX-810 Problem

MTX-810 Problem

Hi,
i just recieved a mtx-810 with a keypad on the front.
when i push the ptt button i get a long beep.
when i change channels i get long beep. only ch 1 works. 2 to 6 beep.
does the radio need reprogramming.
please help

Yes, it is set for a trunking system that the radio is not hearing.

Since it's a trunking radio that is normal, though the 810 can be programmed for conventional channels as well. Also changing channels and getting the long beep most likely is due to the other channel not being programmed.

So yes, it needs programming.
