Can the following be done with 2 current frequencies or does a new license be needed:
County wide dispatch channel cannot be reached with handhelds. We have a another mobil only frequency. Is it legal to link this mobil only frequency to the base to be able to communicate with the county dispatchers and /or do we need a new license for this ?
Any one know what section of part 90 rules this is referenced?

It al comes down to what your license for your freqs are?

If it is an MO class then it can only be mobile. Just because a county may have numerious freqs you cannot link them together.

For an example the county I liven has a license for an MO freq with max power of 100 watts. Now a city that is about 50 miles away or so is licensed on that same freq as a repeater output.

If we made this an input then we cold run the chance of having interference to our repeater, as our input of this freq is the output of there repeater.

My suggestion would be that if you are having coverage issues the county should look into adding some Rxcvr sites with a voter set-up, or add another repeater with the same input/output freqs with the same PL output, but a different PL for the input.

Good luck and hope the problem you have can get solved.
