RICK Question

Post by aaknitt »

At my fire station we have a bidirectional crossband link made up of two GM300s and a RICK. The two GM300s are used as base radios. Here's what I'd like to do: When the base mic on radio A is used, I'd like both radios to key up so the traffic goes out on VHF and UHF. When the base mic on radio B is used, I only want radio B to key up. Is it possible to do this with the RICK or will I need to come up with some sort of circuit using diodes in the mic lines to make this work?

Thanks in advance,

Andy

Andy,
Personally I would not go with the RICK for what your doing. It is too much money and you could easily do what you want with a few lines from one radio to the next.
Depending on what gm300 you have, do they have the 16 pin acc connector?

Well they already have the RICK (it was there long before I was), so all I want to do now is have both radios transmit when one mic is used, only one radio transmit when the other mic is used. I think I can do it by putting a diode circuit between the radios and mics...need to think about it a bit more.

1 mic split to to rj45s?
maybe
