MT 2000 ~~MPL~~

Post by BigJim »

Just programed a UHF MT2000. In the RSS I turned on MPL, entered the PL, DPL codes I want and assigned a side button to activate. That side button does nothing. No way to enter the MPL mode..

So question is were some of the earlier radios not capable of this feature, as to say did Motorola add this feature later with a firmware upgrade?

Or did I just plain miss something? Thanks, BJ

What radios do you own?: Motorola FR50!

I'm thinking that radios with a firmware less than 6.xx will not supoport MPL, but the option is still there in the RSS.

I have been looking into this in-depth.

I haven't found anyone with a MT that does MPL. I have four and none of them work.

The general consensus seems to be the MTS controller is required.

You hit the nail on the head. Only a "true" MTS controller will do MPL. I have never seen an MT that it works on. Even if a codeplug from an MTS is cloned into the MT, it still wont work even though it shows up in the programming menu.

Thanks,
