maxtrac gm300 repeater question
I am trying to use a maxtrac and gm300 both vhf to make a local repeater and im not sure i have the settings right for them in the RSS. when i plug the cable in both radios im not getting anything but receive on the rx radio and no transmit on the other. I have searched the forum and cant seem to find the correct answer for this. what does the maxtrac need to be set on for the tx side and the gm300 for the rx side in the rss? Thanks and sorry if I couldnt find it under the searchy thingy magigy.
It's a pretty straight forward set-up. There's very little programming involved for the pins.
Set the RSS for whatever radio you're using as the receiver to output an active low on pin 8 for Carrier w/PL & DPL (if you use PL or DPL).
Then wire it like this:
Use approx 2.2K - 2.7K resistor between Pin 11 & Pin 2, that'll set it for 3KHz into receiver = 3KHz out of transmitter.
Some people say you should connect the ground, Pin 7, between each radio. If you are running both radios from the same power supply & they are properly wired, you don't have to.
