MT2000 CODE PLUG READING ERROR

Post by FF/EMT/KC2NFB »

HELLO. IM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH A COUPLE OF MT2000 A4'S I PURCHASED OFF EBAY. BOTH RADIOS ARE M/N H01SDD9AA4AN. IM USING MTSX RSS VER. 06.00.00. , A RIB I PURCHASED FROM RADIO STEW,COMP IS 400MHZ 64MB WIN 98. I USE THIS SET UP ON MAXTRAC,HT1000,HT1250,HT1550,CDM1250 WITH NO PROBLEMS.

WHEN I TRY TO READ BOTH RADIOS I GET THE SAME TWO ERRORS FROM BOTH RADIOS.

1. Communication with radio failed
>Request not ACKed/NAKed Error<

2. Communication with radio failed
>CHECKSUM ERROR<

WHEN I TURN ON THE RADIOS THE DISPLAY SHOWS SELFTEST AND NO ERROR MESSAGES ARE DISPLAYED. I HAVE ALSO TRYED USING A REAL MOTOROLA RIB AND STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. :x

ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APRECIATED.

THANK YOU

You need to read the programming primer.

I'm honestly surprised you made it this long running that computer to program the other radios. It's actually a good thing you're getting the error. It kept the radio from being written and corrupted.

Dig around and find a DOS computer 386 vintage. You may get lucky for a while but eventually that 400Mhz box will make a brick of something.

just a late update.

the problem i was having was a software problem not hardware.

i allways read that people have to use 386/486 computer to program radios.

i find this untrue. i use a pentium 120mhz laptop for all my DOS RSS and a pentium II 333mhz laptop for all my windows CPS with no problems at all. saber,mt2000,ht1000,ht1250,ht1550,ex600,CDM, maxtrac and others. this isint just a few lucky read and writes. i have programed hundreds of times with this set up with the above mentioned models and have never made a brick out of anything.

so take this for what you think its worth. but as far as im concerned its been tryed and true and it works every time no errors no glitches no problems.
