Wondering if anyone has played with the ref modulation in the allignment to adjust for pl deviation or other reasons while alligning. Also can this harm anything?
I used it to lower the pl and alligned everything to my liking. Everything I could tell seems to look great.
Also tried to look for the square wave the help shows in the rss and all I can see is a triangular spike. No square wave.
Yes, I have adjusted that parameter before. Have you tried looking at your PL waveform on a service monitor? The reason I ask is you might have been successful at lowering the deviation level, but at the expense of seriously distorting the waveform.
When properly set, you will see a square wave when performing that adjustment...if you go too far from the mark in either direction, you'll end up with a triangle or distorted sine wave.
I'm not sure how much it affects PL or DPL, but I do know it has a serious effect on low-speed trunking data...the wave must be square or very close to it for the unit to trunk properly.
