Astro digital saber beeps???

Post by saberjerk »

I have a astro digital saber 1 that makes a series of 6 short beeps after turning on. Otherwise the radio seems to operate normaly.
Any one ever have this happen? H04RDC9PW5AN

Key fail tones. You encryption module has had its keys erased.

Great thanks for that quick answer. I have another as1 with identical model number same flash and identical encryption module. It doesn't beep when the key is lost??
I guess I need to reprogram it to keep the key even when the battery is removed.

What radios do you own?: Radar Range

The other radio may have "Infinite Key Retention" enabled and will keep the key for some time.

Nope. When I key up with switch in encrypt mode I get the normal keyloss tones. So I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a key.

I don't have it in front of me, but I'm pretty sure there's a 'key loss alert tone' check box in the CPS somewhere.

Key fail alert, and alert on key fail. Both I think are under the radio wide screen.

If using RSS, under secure options in the radio wide (F2?) there is an option for Infinate Key retention. Using this option will keep the key between battery swaps etc.

Otherwise if your not using encyption, just disable the module in RSS/CPS.
