Ht1000 RX adjustments

Post by EastTnLC »

I have a HT1000 VHF 16ch radio which I programmed it to recieve only. My question is, Most of the time, after they finish their transmission I hear a "white noise". I went into the programming and adjusted the RX numbers and set them to 25. Now, it does'nt seem like it is RX as well as it should. Is it something that I changed in the programming that makes it RX less and thats what causes the white noise? The freq. range is 154-159 Should I set the numbers higer than 25 or lower? Any help will be Greatly appreciated!

P.S. Might have more questions later on, not sure yet.

Well, when you changed your channel bandwidth to 25khz, that could definately play a role in decreased RX sens. Also, the "white noise" you hear could be caused by the radio RX being set to CSQ, or the system just does not use a Motorola-Type reverse burst or turn-off code. Try checking with someone who works on the system or see if you have an RX TPL/DPL set.

What Screen in the Programming did you make these changes at?

If it is the RF frontend alignment section you may have made changes that reduced the radio receiver's sensitivity. It takes a calibrated signal generator/service monitor to properly align the rf frontend set points.

In other words now you have to pay a tech to realign it. You should never mess with things if you aren't REALLY sure you know what you're doing and have the tools and test gear to do it correctly.
