Spectra remote board question

Post by ffemt1764 »

Ok I just received a 2 db25 front face for my d43 spectra and it has 2 circuit boards on it, one is HLN6234B, the other is HLN5478A- what is the second board? it connects to my interconnect board and has what appears to be a bios chip on it with HVN6031A on the bios chip...any info will be greatly appreciated.

I got the same setup, and installed it in my spectra.
When I would power it up it would got to the first mode not home.
On my A9 head if I hit home it would go to the home mode.

After messing with it, reading it setting the home to another mode and programing the radio, it would still power up on the first mode. Once I removed the second board HLN5478A, the radio works fine..

Do you have the same results?

Haven't installed it yet as I want to know what this board does before I go putting it in or leaving it out...dont want to have to go through a bunch of trail and error unless I have to.

is it maybe one of those "special" interface boards for a data modem???

that might explain "always powering up in first mode"

That sounds reasonable.

Now I'm kind of curious, a buddy has a spectra data radio for an MDC. I'm going to stop by his house and see if it has the same board.
