Help with TPN1110B Power Supply

Post by RLP »

Hello,

I have a TPN1110B power supply that I want to use to power some of my ham radio equipment. All will be rack mounted. I want to be able to cut the power supply on and off from a switch on a rack panel. Can any of the extra wires coming from the side of the power supply be used to cut the power supply on and off?

I downloaded the schematic and it shows only one wire that goes to a remote switch. The schematic show YLW/BRW wire to local panel ON-OFF switch. Where would the wire leaving the ON-OFF switch go to?

Another question I have is. I need 5 volts ( low amperage ) to power the LED volt and amp meters I want to hook to the power supply. Can the 9.5v on the small wires of the accessory plug be adjusted down to 5 volts?

thanks,
RLP

The ON-Off circuit just enables the 13 volt regulator, goes to ground either thru a jumper on the reg board or the Compa Station on-off switch on the dashboard.
The main 14 volt supply does NOT turn off.

The 9.6 regulator is not adjustable. Just use a simple three terminal 7805 regulator, with a 10 uF cap on the output terminal for stability for the 5 V power to the meters.

Will,

Thanks for the help. I guess I'll use a rackmount AC power strip that has switched outlets to plug the power supply into.
