R2001

Post by ABANAKA »

I have a Used R2001C the unit is working okay except that the CRT has a problem when its first warming up. The lettering on the screen is off the screen both top, bottom and the sides. After a period of time it will come in view on the CRT. There is also some rolling in the picture. I know this is a power supply problem but I don't have a Service manual for this unit. Looking for some help. When unit is warmed up it works perfectly.
Thanks
Mike

Looks like a too low voltage frm the power supply. If you have a periodic scrolling line on the picture, check the big capacicators in the power supply.

If it is a power supply problem, it will be the +100V or the -100V supply that is bad. These supplys are ONLY used in the scope circuits. The other posibillity is a problem on the scope amplifier board (A2) which is the one that is next to the CRT. There are four pair of amps for scope deflection that use these supplies.
