MT 1000 LED

Post by tpr223 »

I have a MT1000 with 16 ch. The led glows red when transmitting, as i think is correct. But the led doesn't glow red or green when in the scan mode. I thought the led would blink when in the scan mode. Thanks for the info. Very informative forum.

as far as i know the green light is used only for a visiual that there is radio traffic on a different pl or when the radio is in the tone alert mode.

My MT1000 doesn't have a visual indication when it is scanning either. The only time I see something other than red is when I see green, such as when its set for PL squelch and there is a carrier present that doesn't have the correct one.

There is no scan indication on the 16 channel MT1000. The 2 LED states are Red for TX and Green for "busy" channel indication in PL mode as described above.

The 99 channel model shows "S" on the display when scanning.

As K2HZ says, the LED lights up green when there's a carrier on the channel while the receiver is in PL mode. This is your indication that the channel is in use even if you don't check the monitor. It does not work in scan and if your channel is set for CSQ there is als no LED signal.

According to the manual that's the correct behavior for both the 16 chan and 99 chan. The green LED only lights up when the switch is in the PL mode.
