You guys aren't sending the donations to the right place to get the "BatBoard $upporter" tag.

[email protected] is the address you have to send it to.

It goes to "Batwing" who owns and personally hosts the main site. If you look under that button it says:

Code: Select all

Note: This does not goto the batboard server fund!
If you send a donation for the Server Fund and follow the directions in the beginning of this topic you'll get a tag, and your money goes to support the dedicated hosting that Batboard.Batlabs.com has.

ok so dont you think it would be a good idea to put a donation icon thats for the server fund instead of putting a note saying that its not for the server fund. when people are on the batboard and see "MAKE A DONATION" it would be implied that there money is going to the batboard.

so exactly what did my donation go to? or better yet what will it be used for?

I'd like to point out that there is a comment probably on at least each of the last 3 pages with instructions on what to do.

The most important thing that you can do on a message board is:

READ EVERYTHING before doing.

Read the FAQ before posting here. Make sure you clearly understand the rules on the main page.

It's all very simple, spelled out in english, and is easy to find - if you take the time to do it.

I will not take time out of my day (which is already busy enough) to hold everyone's hand through everything. It's all spelled out clearly - if you take the time to read.

Additionally - on the MAIN page on the board - it says under the button - that this money does not go to support the batboard! (and you apparently didn't take the time to READ through Jaymz's post, which clearly states that.

ok, ill try and contact [email protected] and see if i can have the donation refunded or fowarded to the batbaord server fund.

all im saying is that:
im not the only one that has made this mistake.
we are trying to make donations to the board. a very helpful board that we most definitly want to try to deffer any financial woes. i and everyone else want to help. i am a firm believer that nothing is for free and if something is given to you for free you should try to repay in some way.

so would it be posible to make a donation icon just for batboard donations on the main board? it would be the easiest and fastest way for board members to make donations. being a volunteer firefighter i know a little about asking for donations. if you make it as easy as possible for people they will donate and donate more often.

sorry if i came off a little strong but i want to help and was a little bothered about where my money went.

Technically it's his board - he put the link there - and established the ground rules to start.

So with that in mind, I tend to not change a whole lot, Just enforce things.

I'd go in to paypal and see if you can reverse the payment, or send them an email - i might be easier than trying to get in touch with Bat (that's my $0.10).

It is his domain, his creation, so while I do run the actual board [not the website - http://www.batlabs.com] it was still origionally setup and run by him in pretty much the form you see now.

Guys -

As far as I know, Jon is not accepting any donations at this time in support of "running the forum." I have been told that there is enough in the kitty to cover the hosting for some time to come.

I appreciate that people continue to want to support the board, however, if there is not a need for the money then we simply are not going to ask for it.

In the future if we do need something or support in whatever form then we will reach out to the community.

Thanks in advance for your support, and all the support you have already given.
