Desktrac swap maxtrac question

Desktrac swap maxtrac question

I've searched the boards and read different answers to my potential problem... I see the availibility of UHF or VHF Desktracs here and there for a relatively good price. What I need is a Low band version. Since I have access to Low band Maxtracs, would it be as easy as just swapping the t/r boxes to make a low band unit? Anything to look out for, or suggestions to avoid problems? Thanks, Ben

I would think it would work. The only thing that comes to mind is the rating of the power supply VS the low band 60 watt transmitter.
