MT1000 - Cost when new & brochure?

Post by W7SAZ »

Using MT1000 for 70cm HAM. Just curious if anyone knows roughly
what MT1000s sold for when new and if anyone has an image of an
old MT1000 brochure or advertisement.

Much appreciated!

Hi,
The previous reply was an error for the MT1000 users guide. Copy the link below and paste it in your browser and this should take you to the site.

I am told that our agency paid roughly $1100 each for 16ch VHF units sometime around '89 or '90 or so. List price would be more.

We paid ~$1400.00 for:

99 channel VHF MT-1000
Speaker mike
Rapid Charger
2 batteries
Leather carrying case

These were in 1988.

I thank all for the helpful replies!

WOW, $1100-$1400 for an HT bought in volume on government contracts. I guess that explains why so many MT1000s survived many years of torturous public service use and still provide outstanding performance by today’s standards.

I would be very interested if anyone has an MT1000 brochure that they could scan and e-mail me an image.

Regards,
George
