That's what they always do..Richard wrote:Thanks Much...never understood why Motorola would replace a radio (Spectra and X9000) with a newer model that does less (even for more money)
I keep X9000 on my buying list, if i see a radio, cable, control head, that i can afford pop up locally or on here if the cost with shipping is cheap enough i add it to my stockpile. I have five of them in service, two of which normally run 24/7 and the others in the mobile get used at least a couple hours per day when i'm not busy on the road. I like to keep spare parts on hand, i have even started buying up Syntor X's to keep on hand for spare parts if i see em cheap.

I have some X9000 in service in my personal cars that I plan to pull out...lowband 64 mode, VHF 64 mode and 800 conventional 32 mode if you are still looking for them. I agre they were a great radio.
I also have several syntor x's on 450-470 (100 watt) with sys 90 8 PL heads as well as a VHF unit with sys 90 chennel select available...as well as Pac PL vrs's for the syntor X on 450. All complete with cables, heads, spkrs and mics.

I wouldn't say the X9000 "were" a great radio. They "are" a great radio.. LOL Still one of the best trunk mount conventionals made. Built like a tank and just as hard to kill. Not prone to being made into bricks with programming errors either, LOL..
If you plan to pull out some lowband and VHF radios let me know when you do it. I usually have guys on my waiting list here looking for radios. The lowband X9000's are getting super hard to find, and when they show up on ebay they go for ridiculous prices. The last one i was watching on there went for over $300 and it was a beat up example.
