MTS 2000 question
My EMS department is currently using the HT1000 portable because of its paging capability. I am thinking about buying an MTS 2000 as a personal portable for work. Before I buy I need to know if the MTS 2000 also supports the 2 tone paging.

Thanks for your help, I have one more quick question. If I have to have the radio flashed to add the feature I'll probably have to take it to a dealer since none of our radios are flashport, so I doubt it can be done my the department's radio guy. Do you know how much it usually runs for the upgrade?
It would probably be easier to have your dealer or service center do the upgrade. You can do it yourself if you have a smart rib and the flashkey, but if your only doing one or two radios, then it's not worth buying the extras. The last time I ordered that option it was around $125, and that was a year ago. I dont think it has gone up much if any. You will also get updated firmware in your radio along with the flash upgrade. Hope that helps.

Just a side thought, some of the MT2000's has QC decode option in it...

QCII is not included in all the MDC packages. From what I have seen, only in the H169 package. And no, not all MT2000's have QCII. They have to have firmware of R02.00 or above to support it, and there are alot of them floating around out there with really low firmware, ie R01.37, R01.42 just to name a few commons.

- What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000
and most of those are hacked non-flashport MTX controllers with labbed codeplugs...Mfire39 wrote:QCII is not included in all the MDC packages. From what I have seen, only in the H169 package.
