Minitor V Low Volume

Post by captrgm »

I have had 35 Minitor V SV pagers in one Department since Jan1/06. In the last week, 3 of them came back with very low volume. It does not matter where the volume pot is adjusted, you can barely hear the audio and the alert beeps. Has anyone else seen this problem?

I have never seen the problem in the minitor V, however, I had several minitor IVs that were set to a fixed alert and that seemed to kill the volume on the pager. When the fixed alert was disabled, the volume went back to normal.

These were not set to fixed alert. I hope I don't get another 30 pagers coming back with no volume!

You didn't state whether the Min Vs were being used with amplified chargers or not.....they're NOT, are they?

No, they are using standard chargers.

Yes, the Minitor V weak point is the volume control. The carbon film in it wears out after a short time causing it to have minimum volume. The only thing that can fix it is a new volume control.
