MTR2000 Add MDC1200 Repeater Access?

Post by STicKman »

What equipment would be required in order to add MDC1200 Repeater Access to a MTR2000? i750 Repeater Controller? All of our end user equipment is configured with MDC1200 PTT ID. Anyone have examples of a similiar setup?

The MTR2000 is not designed for SAM-like repeater access or MPLs. For the latter, Motorola recommends using a Zetron 38 external repeater controller, for connecting which it provides a cable that will run to the Euro connector on the backplane and instructions for wildcard programming. You make need to install the Aux I/O board in your MTR.

Off the top of my head, I'd say you should take a look at the Cimarron C Plus III. This is basically an MDC1200 decoder, but it has a relay and programming that allows it to be used for repeater access control. I've never done it, but I gather it works.
