Jedi Public Safety Mics

Post by Vercomm »

I have gotten a part number for a public safety mic for a Jedi series radio (NMN6228C). This is the description from motorola:

"Public Safety Microphone: Requires antenna. Includes a 30 inch straight cord assembly, 3.5 mm earpiece jack, swivel clothing clip and quick disconnect latch - FM Approved"

What Antenna is required, hopefully not one of the 7-8" monsters. Is there a stubby antenna that can be used on the mic?

Thanks,

Jamie

Depends on the bandsplit. Generally, the PS speaker mics are used for UHF and 800 only (Moto recommends against them for VHF), and a stubby antenna is available for both of those bands.

FYI, I've got a like-new NMN6228C up for sale if you're interested... PM me.
