Stornophone 7000 (Euro Saber) need info !!
I just picked up a Stornophone 7000 radio here on the board. The radio
looks like a domestic Saber 3 except for the brand tag "Stornophone7000" on the front and the model sticker on the back. I tried to read it with MX3000 Rss and no go, it tells me it has the wrong core for the rss, no go on the standard Saber rss either.
Anyone have any idea what the part number may be for the RSS for this radio and any idea of where it originated???
Here is the model info from the back of the radio:
Storno A/S
MIDTEAGER 20
DK 2605 Brondby
TYPE: CQP7662-5380
Thanks fo any info, please pm me or email me: [email protected]
Thanks

Storno 7000
Alas, no answers. The radio probably came from Finland/Germany though. Tried looking on Google, but all you'll find is a dealer in Finland offering a programming service.....

Stop the planet, I want to get off
Thanks for the info, I am still doing some research on the radio. It appears to have the same style modules as a domestic Saber however the bandsplit is listed as 403-470 mhz on a few sites I found in Europe, the modules have some odd numbers on them. The unit also seems to support some kind of trunking format since I can get it to go into site search mode.
Thanks
Frank
Thanks

A CQP7000 should be programmable with the MX1000 Series - Fieldprogrammer (not the HAM-patched version), since it nothing more or less than a MX1000 series radio (CQP7000-A = MX1000, CQP7000-B = MX2000, CQP7000-C = MX3000). There is also a "CQP7000 Series Programmer", which can be used. Maybe your radio is an special dutch version, which needs an different RSS. What is the modelnumber of the radio (the modelnumber follows the well known Motorola-format).

Thanks

Saber-RSS will not work on this radio. What you need is "Programmeereenheed Portavox 3165/3453". This will program your Dutch-radio, even splitband-models.

Hello,
The CQP7000 is a Motorola made Saber Radio. It has however,
as for the MXx00 a custom COPE front panel CPU. Core should
be identical. The 7000 was created from a Motorola offensive onto
Storno at the time they were bought out.
To program you CQP7000 you will need a tool called "FP2200". It is
a Storno made Rss for that specific "saber platform". The binary
Version 10.06 will be "fp1006.exe" and be called by a fp.bat file.
Use standard Rib and Prog Cable.
Daniel.
