Minitor III Tweaking

Post by STP354 »

Will tweaking the band and frequency range on a minitor III from VHF to UHF fry the pager?

I have a VHF minitor III currently at 154.310
I would like to change it to UHF 462.725 using the engineering section, will that work or make me a nice paperweight?

What about to just a different split like 159 and up?

It won't work in either choice. Changing the freq from VHF to UHF requires a completely different RF board. Cheaper to buy a UHF pager in the band you want. Trying to change the range split of the VHF band also requires a different RF board. The VCO won't accept the change. Again, cheaper to buy another pager for the required freq range.
