Post by commsfire »

Is it possible to expand the m206 to 16 channels. What is the max channels?
Thanks again for all the great help I received earlier with this problem radio...and lack of experience...

HI:

A couple of ways of getting your radio modified.

1. Go here =>http://www.batlabs.com/maxrad.html
2. Seek out perhaps someone in your area that can make the mods
3. I can perhaps make the mods for you if you wish to email me
direct @ [email protected]

It can be done, it depends on you skill level and how mcuh
time you are willing to spend.

STRANGE THAT THE NUMBER THAT REFERS TO THE CHANNELS IS 06 AND NOT 08 OR 10
THANKS AGAIN,

Heya...
I have an M208.

Awhile ago, Motorola stopped shipping the M206 as a 6 channel model, and updated it to 8 channels.

Regardless, the mod works the same.

I went to the hack on batlabs, and got 16 channels out of the radio no problem.

I heard I might be able to get 32, but have not tried that one yet.

Be carefull of attempting to add more than 16 channels to a Radius. Although the Radius and Maxtracs are basicly the same radio, unless you have a 16 pin logic board, you are asking for trouble in attempting a 32 channel mod on a Radius. Make sure that you have saved the old codeplug and the old mdf file in a seperate directory so that you can salvage the radio in case of problems.

I have a copy of the original MDF and a back-up codeplug from before I messed around with anything on a few disks, so hopefully no paperweights for me :)
