Latest version of MTS2000 CPS

Post by mr.syntrx »

G'day

What's the latest MTS2000 CPS version, and is it still backwards compatible with RSS? Just bought an MTS2000 II last programmed with CPS, but I've only currently got access to RSS R06.07.00, so if necessary, I want to order the software before this thing arrives.

Cheers

From what I have heard, and I'm not sure what the latest CPS version is, but once an MTS is programmed with this newest release CPS, there is no going back to DOS RSS. This is just something that I read, and I have not tried it personally.

RSS should work with CPS 1.12.

Your RSS 6.07 will work fine in conjuction with CPS 1.10. The last CD I had received from Motorola until a few months ago had this as the latest version, with the MCS2000 being 1.12. The latest for both the MCS2000 & MTS2000 CPS is now 1.13, with the latest RSS being 5.08/6.08...but they are now not fully compatible. Here's a snippit from the 1.13 readme file:

Subscription applicability, eh? Wonder if that means they have to have me on file as having purchased a MCS directly from them before they'll sell me software.

Nah. Just means that you bought the software from them.

I just purchased the MTS CPS and that is what showed up on my account.

I see the latest is RVN4175T, and, I see a major price list price reduction to $263!

Does anyone know if this the Windows CPS for the MTS, the MCS, or both? The descriptions and bundling are very confusing. I'm going to buy the Windows version for the MTS if I can figure out which one it is!

Actually, it's up to R02.00.01 for the MTS & MCS, which is the rebanding release.

RVN4176S - MTS2000 R02.00.01
RVN4175T - MCS2000 R02.00.01
RVN4177T - MCS+MTS R02.00.01

For the people who now run the newer CPS on the MTS, is it the same kind of software inferface as the Pro/XTS series? (basic layout design)

Does moto still make the DOS R06.08.00? If so any one got a part number?

Which version would be easier to program MDC1200 PTT Decode?

They DOS 6.08.00 comes with the latest CPS...I don't believe it is available separately.

I didn't realize that when you bought the RSS/CPS that it was a subscription.
Now I understand why the heck it costs 3 benjamins a little better.

Surprised the **** out of me when UPS dropped off a package from Motorola the other day and in it was CPS R02.00.01 and RSS R06.08.00.

Good stuff, even though I don't need to worry about any of the rebanding schtuff on my portables.

Just VHF and UHF conventional for me, thanks!

Got the scanner for the TRSs. Doesn't sound as good as an MTS would, but the system can't turn it into a paperweight either.

** Bump **

Does anyone know if the MCS CPS Version 1.10 is compatable with the MTS2000 "FlashPort" series of radio?

Thanks,
Ray.
