CIE 7 pair cable

Post by Dover IT »

I am looking to purchase bulk 7 pair cable in order to relocate our CEB, and I have limited space to run the new cables through. therefore I can not purchase ones from M with the ends already on them..

any help would be appreciated..

Check out one of the big wire vendors. Personally, I buy through Interstate Wire, as they're local. They'll usually enforce minimums... 500' of any type of cable, $100 minimum order, but I suspect you won't have a problem making those mins.

Describe the wire in more detail and one of us can likely tell you what to buy... do you need 7-pair, or is 14/15 conductor acceptable? Color specs? Conductor size/stranding?

If you intend to put on your own connectors, I'd suggest buying the proper tool. Generally the connectors are a punch down type, and the old "66" punch tool won't work.

Also determine if you need plenum rated cable....

Good luck!

stick with the motorola cable, you can remove and re-install the connectors. you need a AMP butterfly crimp tool. if you need the proper tool, i have one for sale/rent.
