GM300 Warning Tone

Hi I just purchased a GM300 UHF model.
The radio beeps once quickly and then gives 5 second warning tone upon power up.
The tone is there with or without the jumper on pins 7 and 9 on the rear.
The radio appears to be programmed and transmits on channel 1.
It does not appear to be receiving however, I have not had the radio read with RSS yet.
Thoughts or suggestions appreciated

The second set of tones is likely due to an optional board being installed such as QCII decode.

Just opened the radio and there doesn't appear to be any optional boards installed.

The one time I recall seeing that issue is when the radio wasn't exited out of the service alignment properly...ie: someone went in & did an alignment of some sort, then just unplugged the programming cable without hitting F10 to exit the mode. The radio then gave that error tone everytime at power-up. To fix it, I just had to go into the alignment screen, perform a small adjustment to something (doesn't really matter what), then save the change & exit properly.

Ah that was it !
Got rid of the warning tone by reprogramming and exiting the software properly.
Receiver is still dead.
Suspect the usual diodes will be the first place to look.

Cool, glad to hear if worked for you. If the diodes are ok, I'd look at the 1st local oscillator xtal...it's the most common fault.
