HT750 scan problem

Post by motorolamaniac »

I have a VHF HT750 that I just bought new and is version 05.09.06. I just received it back from programming. I had it set up to scan all channels numbered 1-16 enabled by the top orange button. When I enable scan it shows that it is scanning blinking green but will not receive any activity on any channel except, from what I can determine, only channel #1.

It receives normally when not scanning and all PL codes are correct. I have a copy of the radios' personality list from the dealer and it shows that scan is enabled in CPS for each channel and that the button I wanted for scan enable is assigned to that function. I have tested the radio with one of my GP300's identically programmed and cannot get it to stop on scan.

Did the dealer not do something in CPS that he should have?

Thanks,
Jeff

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

just because the channel is capable of having the scan turned on don't mean they put the channels in the scan list, that's in a different section of the cps. and if i'm not mistaken you can only put 15 channels in the scan list. i'd guess they didn't put any channels in the list, start there first.

Sounds to me like they left the scan list blank.

They could have assigned a scan list to each of the personalities, but then you have to go back in and make a scan list with all of the channels you want in it. What probably happened is that the programmer assiged scan list 1 in the personality field but never made a list.

Thanks guys, I was leaning in that direction. I guess it is back to the dealer.

I'm in the same boat. I have a 16 channel UHF ht750. I have programmed all 16 personalities. The first four are work related. Channels 5 - 9 are ham repeaters, and 10 - 16 are receive-only police freqs. I set up three different scan lists for the three different types, work, ham, and police. I still can't get it to stop on any frequency during scanning. My kenwood radio is sitting here scanning and getting hits while the 750 sits silently with the LED blinking green. I'm beginning to think that M makes programming complicated on purpose.

Anybody got a codeplug file that scans successfully that they can email me for reference?

Thanks,

Rick
