HT1250 Public Safety Mic Question

Post by jknapp »

I have an HT1250 VHF radio w/ a public safety mic. My question is the anntenna connector has a black stripe and my buddies has a bule stripe. His seems to receive better. Is there a difference in them?

the stripe indicates the band split of the antenna... i don't have the info, but im pretty sure its avail on the batlabs info site as to how to decode the antenna colors...

The stripe I am talking about is on th econnector that screws into the radio and then the mic attaches to that. I have a black stripe on mine and another guy in the same department has a blue stripe. We operate on 154.220 and 154.160.....his seems to pick up and transmitt better......any ideas?

I have been working in a radio shop and we have lots of those connectors I cannot think of much a difference except for the fact that the blues have been around alot longer we used them on P110's the blacks seem to work better with 1250's and are relatively new.
