ntn4734a problem/maybe battery problem

Post by Krunk »

hi all, i recently purchased a new Abell technology branded nimh battery for my saber I, when i pluged it inot my charger it cycles throught the indicators and then lights up the red charging light and yellow standby light, i left the battery in the charger for about 36 hours and both lights stayed on and the battery never even got warm.

what do the different lights mean? and what could be wrong with my battery?

the charger works great on my other battery, a 2000mah nicd and i have no ideas what the problem could be at this point.

thanks much.

What radios do you own?: Progreso soup can with CRT

battery problem...

I would return/exchange the battery you just got. It probably has a
bad cell, regardless of its being new. Good NiMH batteries work fine in
the 4734 charger.

Pfffft, that's what you get for using off-brand aftermarket gear!

agree.

a discriminating buyer surfing ebay can find genuine batts at 1/2 the price of aftermarket ones.

don't get e-screwed tho - buy the seller - not the product.

i contacted the seller and he said he will replace it, all the other batts i have are aftermarket and amongst my friends the only bats i have seen bad are old moto packs that came with their radios.

i will admit i am not a descriminating radiophile, me and my team just like having good comms at our games and dont mind dropping the jing for cool toys.

thanks much for all the help you fine folks have provided.
