Advisor EliteProgramming

Post by Stmills »

I am trying to program an advisor elite using Unielite for the Uni ALpha Elite, The manual for Unielite is the Motorola 56a software manual. It reads the pager just fine but when I go to program it I get an error saying pager cannot be programmed. Any ideas on how to get this to work?

The Unication software was made to not work with Motorola branded pagers. The fact that it reads the pager says to me that there's probably just a few bytes of data (or some handshake procedure) that's different between the two. Unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to tell without getting the Motorola software (to use with your existing Elite) and a Unication pager (to use with your existing software) and monitor the serial data to see what the differences are between the two.

EEnerd has it right. Unication and Moto software can't be interchanged, which seems pretty stupid to me, but maybe there's a reason (oh, this is Mother M... probably not).

The good news is that PPS is cheap... usually about $10 list. Unfortuantely, Moto hasn't put PF56A online yet... you can download Minitor V, Advisor II, and LS355 for free (beer).

Say TVSJR, do you have a link to a (M) site where you can purchase PPS? (Or download the free ones?). I'm looking for a few different ones.
