Batboard Dayton Dinner 2006 EDIT: Time and Place ADDED

Post by alex »

Like usual - we will be having a dinner.

It looks like Hamsexy is going to do theirs on Friday - So I think that leaves Saturday night (there's a decent amount of people who want to go to both).

Are people game for that? Probably around 7PM, location TBD.

Last year we had probably had close to 30 people show up, if not more. We had a lot more than RSVP'ed which is fine, as there hits a point where the restruant can't give us all one table.

I ask that IF you RSVP that your going, you keep this thread updated with your status. Don't edit your post, simply just put a new post in with your status.

I will update the MAIN POST OF THIS THREAD with details, or another admin/moderator will keep it up to date.

Location: TBD.

Let me know if your interested/able to come this year.

-Alex

Saturday May 20th at 1900 hours. Outback Steakhouse on Miller Ln

UPDATE
DINNER HAS BEEN MOVED TO LONESTAR STEAKHOUSE -- NEXT DOOR TO OUTBACK - SAME TIME 8 PM TONIGHT (5/20/2006).

Well, it turns out that I am leaving here (NE Illinois) ON Friday, at around 5pm. Probably won't shove in untill 10p-12a, depending on what traffic is, so I won't be able to make the HamSexy dinner. I will be there on Saturday+Sunday, so it looks like I will be attending this dinner, most likely.

hmm

Are we talking dinner or just shooting the :o?

If it's a bs session, hooters is probably fine. However if we are talking about actual food...I don't think hooters falls in that catagory.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the ta ta's-however, it's not a dinner thing.

No, I think there would be too many people at that point to stuff in to one restruant on one night.

Now, while hooters is a good place - nothing says we can't hit it after the restruant - I just think it will be easier with a larger group to sit and have dinner...

Lets keep this on track and clean pleae.

Last time we spent more time in the PL of Lonestar than we did inside. They weren't equipped for a group our size. Does Outback have a larger area where we could all fit into?

That's the problem. I don't think we'll ever get enough people confirmed to get our own space in some restruant. The only way that would happen, would be if we pulled another Mr. Cook stunt. With the HS dinner on Friday, the person responsible for the dinner a la cook - would not be present for it.

I don't have a problem calling somewhere now and going - we want xyz space - but it's not fair to the restruant if I call and say a space for 40, and 10 people show up. Makes us look bad as a group as well - not that anyone would care, but we couldn't go to the same place next year.

It would be cool to get a hotel banquet style thing - but again, money... I don't have 4-5k to pony up to rent the space, cater the event - etc.

We might be able to get the whole patio outside - that might not be too much of a challenge - and it was great fun in the storms last year.

Yeah I am growing wings for the trip this year and I had to get a rental. PJ's moods are a little too undependable when it comes to parking and schedules.

Anyone with spare lodging for one!?

Post by jnglmassiv »

It appears I'll be in a position to break my Dayton cherry this year. Seeing as I've not arranged for any accomodations at this late stage, I'm looking for someone with space for me.

edit: Looks like this is taken care of! Thanks!

And count me in for the dinner!
