I"ve got a NUC II I've built into a 900 repeater. We recently acquired a good spot on a mountain and I've installed the repeater in an outdoor NEMA 3R enclosure. The enclosure's heat exchanger and alarm panel all run 24Vdc. After thumbing through the NUC manual it mentions the station can be run from 24VDC via a plug which plugs directly into the backplane. It goes on to say that if I'm running a low power station (less than 100w) it will recharge the batteries automatically.. otherwise I'll need an external charger.
My questions are:
1) does anyone know what how much current is available for "battery recharging"?
2) Does low power "Less than 125w", mean if I've set the PA to operate @ 125 or less watts or do I need a specific LOW POWER station to get any power out of this connector?
My 24v needs are only about 5-10amps. Not sure if this kind of power is available from that connector but I'd like to make the most use out of the available power supplies before I start adding additional points of failure.
Any info anyone has would be great.
Thanks,
Scott
