Spectra squelch during scan

Post by dxon2m »

Hello all,

My spectra seems to have a problem with the squelch when it is in scanning mode. Any slightest noise will open the squelch during scan. But when scan is off, the squelch is back to normal level.

Is there any setting in the RSS that allows me to set the squelch in scan mode?

Thanks
Will

Did you set the Scan options for PL Scan? If so you may get noise bursts on a carrier squelch channel.

The Spectra Squelch setting needs to be set about two to three numbers above where it cuts out the noise to be stable in most inviroments.

The Spectra has a very very FAST VCO, so it can change channels/frequencies realy fast. Sometimes the squelch seems to not keep up.

There are a couple of other settings on a Mode, per channel, basis that can help reduce the noise bursts or falsing. Depends on the MLM Version.
