Siren/PA audio problem
I have a HLN1185B siren/pa unit hooked up to a T83FWA7HA9AK no dek either everything done through the control head. The siren/pa unit was hooked up to a whelen SA314P speaker. I programmed it for PA and EXRD only and when I keyed the mic on PA I could hear my voice through the siren speaker but, it was reallly low and I had the PA volume set to 15. It wouldn't even sound the airhorn tone when I programmed it the second time. So what do you guys think? Bad amp or bad speaker, because the speaker is brand new.

I had the volume up to 15, sorry about not mentioning that before, I just edited my previous post. And no I didn't check the power lead. I don't have any way to check it now because I left the cable and siren at the radio shop and they won't reopen till monday.

You can disconnect the power and the ground and it still will show on the control head everything is working properly. You need to verify that it is getting power and is grounded good. The power lead supplies power for the AMPLIFIER within the 1185 itself, it doesn't supply power for it to work.
In a properly working system you can pull the fuse, turn the siren on, hear the siren noise being produced within the 1185 and hear it coming out the siren speaker just a little bit. It does this because the the AMPLIFIER isn't powered.
