On my lowband x9000, the audio will completely drop at times. No rhyme or reason that I have been able to track down yet. The busy light will remain on and I will not RX audio until it feels like it or until I hit the PTT.
This is in a dual radio setup and is only effecting one radio and the connections are good.
Any place I should start to look? I have another x9000 that I am going to swap it out with.
Oh, this radio is set to squelch 1, and happens on PL and CSQ channels and even when the squelch is set to 0.

- What radios do you own?: X9000, HT1550XLS, MTS2000, etc
This sounds like something is broken.
Depending upon how much spare equipment you have, I would try checking for mechanical intermittents by beating on the radio good and hard with open hand. Maybe the signal processing hybrid is cracked where it mounts into the board.
I would try swapping connectors on the installation so the radio change place on the cabling. This would help eliminate an acessory group problem based upon maybe a bad speaker or other related problem.
I would then try swapping personality boards between radios or changing out the one questionable with a new or spare one. If it's bad, I would get a new one from an 800 MHz unit from Ebay. Lots of cheap units out there complete with acessory groups.
If you swap boards, remember to check jumper settings. HLN-4925 and HLN-5299 are interchangable but the jumpers are slightly different.
Sounds like you are going to have some fun. I have to check out a problem in my car as I have the dreaded 01-90 failure. This is the second overall failure I have experienced in 16 years of X9000 ownership.
Please contact me offline if I can help further.
